Mother and Child Project
Mother and Child Project started in 2006 by social entrepreneur Anna Tsang, whose vision is to provide home based work for disadvantaged mothers in Singapore so that they can become economically self-sufficient. These women are mostly single mothers with children, unsupported retirees and women recovering from psychiatric illnesses. The Project uses donated fabric and works largely with volunteers to ensure that a large percentage of money earned from each product goes back to these women.
Mother and Child Project is a Social Enterprise run by Singapore Anglican Community Services.
Mother and Child produces a wide range of product ranging from key chains to exclusive patchwork quilts and hand-painted clothing. The range also includes the signature Samsui Woman and Peranakan Woman series of products. These are designed by fashion designer Anna Tsang.
